Dr. K. Ashraf was born in Montreal, Quebec. From there he moved to the City of Waterloo and has resided there since the age of six. Dr. K. Ashraf is married and has two children.

Dr. K. Ashraf began his educational path at the University of Waterloo where he completed a BSc degree. While at the University of Waterloo he received a NSERC grant and did research in the field of microbiology. After graduating from the University of Waterloo, Dr. K. Ashraf continued his eduction at the University of Western Ontario in London where he began his dental training. In 1992, he graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. K. Ashraf then decided to return to his hometown, Waterloo, where he began his own dental practice.

Dr. K. Ashraf always strives to be the best at what he does. His education never ends and he seeks out the most latest techniques and technologies in the market. He has travelled extensively to go directly to the source to learn from the best. Miami, Las Vegas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Shanghai, China are just some of the locations where he has studied. Dr. Ashraf has also volunteered his time for the local Dental Society and is a past president of the Waterloo- Wellington Dental Society.

In the past, Dr. K. Ashraf devoted some of his time to the Children In Need of Treatment program for the Region of Waterloo. Dr. K. Ashraf also has committed some of his time to the Sunbeam Centre and treats developmentally challenged children and adults. He feels that he has a responsibility to give something back to the community.
